Taxi man arrested for allegedly having sexual intercourse with 13-y-o

A 48-year-old taxi man has been arrested by the police for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The man has been slapped with charges of sexual touching and having sexual intercourse with a person under 16-years-old.

Reports are that about 10:45 a.m. on March 22, the victim who was heading to Angles boarded the taxi in Spanish Town.

After letting off several passengers along the journey, the accused said to have diverted in the Angels Grove Housing Scheme.

He allegedly locked the vehicle and sexually assaulted the teen.

A report was made to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.

The girl was medically examined and an investigation was launched.

The car driven by the suspect was intercepted by members of the Area Fugitive Apprehension Team.

The name of the accused is being withheld pending the investigation.
