Taxi operator gunned down near Negril Square
A quiet night in Negril turned deadly after a taxi operator was shot and killed while seated behind the wheel of his vehicle, sending shockwaves through the Westmoreland community.
The dead man has been identified as 39-year-old Dadrian Miller of White Hall, Negril.
Reports are that about 11:20 p.m., Miller was found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds near Negril Square. He was discovered slumped in the driver's seat of a Toyota Corolla Fielder motorcar, which he operated as a public passenger vehicle.
He was taken to the Savannah-la-Mar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the motive for the killing has not yet been established, and no suspects have been named.
Detectives from the Negril Criminal Investigation Branch have since launched a probe into the deadly shooting.
